Position Summary:
The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides essential non-medical support services in clients’ homes. PCAs help clients maintain their independence by assisting with daily living activities while fostering a safe and nurturing environment in accordance with Zola’s mission and care standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily personal care such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing
- Provide safe mobility assistance (e.g., transfers from bed to chair, walking support)
- Prepare meals based on individual dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, vacuuming, and kitchen cleanup
- Offer medication reminders (no direct administration)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Monitor client well-being and report any concerns or changes in condition to the supervisor
- Document care activities and client interactions as directed by Zola’s protocols
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- PCA, HHA, or caregiver certification (as required by state regulations)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Prior experience in home care, caregiving, or related field preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be dependable, compassionate, and respectful
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Schedule & Work Conditions:
- Flexible part-time and full-time shifts available
- May include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- In-home setting – must be comfortable working independently
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with caregiving
